The pet I’ll never forget: Polly, the golden retriever who saved my husband’s life
We got her as a puppy and she became particularly close to Adam – a blessing when he went into cardiac arrest in the middle of the night
TL;DR
- Polly, a golden retriever, has been part of the family for five years and shares a special bond with Adam.
- One night, Polly barked loudly, waking Adam's wife who discovered Adam was unconscious and in cardiac arrest.
- The wife performed CPR and called emergency services, saving Adam's life.
- Adam spent three weeks in intensive care, and Polly showed signs of distress during his absence.
- Polly received a Heart Hero award for her life-saving actions.
- Adam has recovered and continues his exercise routine with Polly, now in the form of walks.
