Why young men are entering the world of digital distraction
Young men today are demoralized. That’s the conclusion from the Institute for Family Studies’ new report on the state of young men, based on a survey that actually talked to them.

TL;DR
- Nearly half of young men feel little steady emotional connection to others.
- Four in 10 young men have two or fewer close friends; almost 1 in 10 has none.
- About half feel they don't belong to any community.
- Roughly half believe the American dream is out of reach regardless of effort.
- Nearly three-quarters think connections matter more than ability or effort.
- Many report feeling like failures (43%), powerless (61%), or insufficient (54%).
- Loneliness, isolation, and a lack of community are widespread among young men.
