Did you solve it? Do you have a snout for numbers?

Earlier today I set this elegant number puzzle. Here it is again with a solution.

Did you solve it? Do you have a snout for numbers?

TL;DR

  • The puzzle asks to find a number N starting with 4.
  • Moving the 4 to the end of N creates a new number that is N divided by 4.
  • The solution is found by testing numbers with increasing digits.
  • Two-digit, three-digit, four-digit, and five-digit attempts are shown to be incorrect.
  • The six-digit number 410256 satisfies the condition: 410256 / 4 = 102564.
