NASA ordered astronauts aboard the International Space Station to temporarily take shelter in their docked SpaceX spacecraft after an air leak in the Russian Zvezda module worsened. Where liberal coverage leans into the continuity of cooperation—recounting that "NASA and Roscosmos have worked together" for years on leak mitigation in Zvezda1—conservative stories more pointedly associate the hazard with Russian hardware and engineering, even while acknowledging NASA’s own reassurance and swift lifting of evacuation orders.5 Both sides, however, ultimately converge on a narrative of contained risk: a short-lived alarm that tested, but did not break, the strained U.S.–Russian partnership that still underpins the ISS.
