Liberal-leaning coverage splits between human-interest uplift, market skepticism, and structural critique. CBS News spotlights Juan Hernandez, a former SpaceX welder whose 6,500 shares—once a forgettable perk—are now worth more than $1 million, emblematic of how the $75 billion raise “minted” thousands of new millionaires.⁴⁵ At the same time, outlets like CNBC remind readers that SpaceX is still unprofitable and warn that its $2.1 trillion valuation hinges on highly speculative “moonshots” in Mars colonization, AI data centers, and Starlink.⁶⁷
